Η Τριχόπτωση, όπου στον ακραίο βαθμό της ονομάζεται Ανδρογενετική Αλωπεκία δεν εξελίσσεται πάντα με τον ίδιο τρόπο. Ωστόσο υπάρχει ένα μοντέλο (κλίμακα Hamilton) το οποίο με μικρές παραλλαγές ακολουθείται στις περισσότερες περιπτώσεις Ανδρογενετικής Αλωπεκίας.
